Just about anyone can achieve Neymar’s signature hairstyles. It helps if your hair is similar to his, however. Neymar has naturally curly/kinky hair, which surprises many people.

The footballer straightens it out nearly every day to achieve his dramatic hairstyles. To replicate one of the five styles below, you will also need top-quality hairstyling products and tools.

1.Ā Angular Fringe

With close-cropped or shaved sides and a long top layer cut at an angle, this look is edgy without going too far. Depending on how you style it, it can be quite dramatic or very low-key. This look works best on men who haveĀ round faces.Ā

Don’t attempt to cut your hair this way by yourself. Instead, bring a photo of Neymar sporting this look and ask the stylist to give you the same hairstyle.Ā

As for styling it like Neymar, start by thoroughly drying it and then straightening it. Use styling wax to create defined points in the hair that angles down over the sides.

2. Brushed Up

To achieve this look, you will need to let your locks grow for a while. Once your hair is around three or four inches long, have the sides and back trimmed very close.

Styling this classic look is a snap. Depending on the texture of your hair, you may not even need to straighten it. Invest in some excellent pomade or gel, and work it liberally through damp hair. Dry it while working it upwards with your fingers. You can use a brush, but fingers help to achieve a more natural, tousled look.

Once you have it the way you want it, freeze it in place with a generous amount ofĀ hairspray.

3. Simple Short

When it comes to men’s hairstyles, short doesn’t have to mean bland. Neymar has proven that plenty of times. Whenever he sports the simple, short hairstyle, he’s always styled it in a way that lends it a tousled and strategically mussed look.

To pull off this look, it must be kept neat and tidy around the sides and back. A fade works well, but make sure the neck is shaved clean. Give the cut a defined look by liberally applying styling mousse before it is completely dry. Experiment with different styles; a prominent “wall” of bangs is one popular example

4. Undercut

The undercut has been a popular men’s hairstyle for some time, but Neymar has prompted renewed enthusiasm for it. You can go in many different directions with this hairstyle, but if you want to look like Neymar, consider going for a choppy side part. Instruct the stylist to give it uneven or jagged edges, and then use pomade, hair wax or gel to define individual sections of hair. The end result will be a messy yet structured look. Keep in mind, that to keep this hairstyle looking great, regular trimming and shaving of the sides and back is a must.

5. Mohawk

Perhaps the most famous Neymar style of them all is the mohawk.

The footballer has sported many variations of this dramatic hairstyle, and they’re easier to achieve than you probably suspect. The hair on top must be at least four inches long. From there, closely shave the sides to leave a stripe of hair running down the center of your head. Have the initial cut done at the salon, and then maintain it yourself with clippers. As for styling it, start by washing and then drying it.

Next, straighten the hair in small sections. Use mousse to form a crest to produce the classic mohawk look. You can use a comb or brush, but fingers work best. When you are ready to try a new style, consider allowing the sides to gradually grow out. That way, you can enjoy a faux hawk style for a while until you are ready for a completely new hairdo.

If you can’t seem to get one of these styles to work for you, it could be that your hair is too fine or otherwise not the right texture.

Don’t worry, though! Under the instruction and guidance of a skilled hairstylist, you should be able to achieve the look you want. Otherwise, keep trying different styles until you find one that is compatible with your hair.
